WHAT: Come celebrate the winter solstice & holidays with us at Gravity. Grab some beautifully handcrafted gifts; jewelry, art, pottery, kombucha, aerial costumes & more! Enjoy a short aerial performance by a few of the amazing Gravity instructors. Get chair massage to work out some of those over worked aerial muscles. Bring a pair of wrapped socks to participate in our annual sock exchange! Eat, drink mingle, dance & be merry!

  • Holiday Market - find the perfect locally crafted gifts!

  • Aerial Performance - bring a treat to share if you’d like too!

  • Sock Exchange - ring a pair of wrapped socks!

  • Chair Massages - relieve some of that holiday stress.

  • DJ & Dance Party - -aerial flow time (must be sober and have a signed waiver).

WHAT: Calling all circus artists! Come audition to be a part of Gravity’s 5th aerial production. Join us in our 2025 journey to outer space, written by Jessica Free, Emma Bennett & Megan McMaster!

Our previous productions have included an aerial rendition of The Little Mermaid, an original Such Great Heists, a classic art heist, written by Cassie Wilson, and Aerial Avengers, an interpretive superhero-villain storytelling of real world issues, Cirque Floresta, a journey through a magical forest written by Isis Stevens and Alannah Petitt.

WHEN:

  • Auditions:

    -December 8th at 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

-December 13th at 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

  • Rehearsals

-Sunday January 5 at 10:00 a.m. Full Cast Welcome Meeting

-1 Weekly (more if you are in more than 1 piece) Studio Rehearsal January till the show (day and time will be set once you have been cast.)

For the Audition:
-Use the link below to fill out the audition sign up form.

-Prepare a 1-2 minute act showcasing the circus skill of your choice.

-Optional - a short ground dance combination will be taught at the end, for those that would like to be considered for a group dance piece.

REQUIREMENTS:
-16+ (exceptions made with management approval)

-Commitment to making 90% of all of the rehearsals.

-Commitment to communicating and getting caught up when rehearsal are missed.

-Find and provide a costume for yourself that is agreed upon with your group.

-Show fee to help cover rehearsal times, scene leader, theater rental and other production costs. Amount TBD, but should be fairly reasonable. Some paid and trade positions may be available as well.

A bit about the Show:

This was Gravity Aerial Art's 4th original sold out aerial production in 2023, so we decided to bring it back for 2024! Get ready to be mesmerized by the talents and creativity of this incredible cast. Watch as they spin, fly and flip though the air as they tell this beautiful tale. The amazing costumes, sets and music will allow you to become fully immersed and lost in this magical land.  3% of our ticket sales will be donated to  the Rainforest Foundation and the rest will be used to pay our amazing performers.

A bit about the Story:

Our flower and fairy peacekeepers will take you on a journey to meet all of the creatures that live in this beautiful forest. The bees, birds, butterflies and monkeys will come into conflict with the jaguars, spiders, dragonflies and snakes. Watch as these conflicts erupt into a massive storm. Come see for yourselves if these creatures are able to save this beautiful forest.

A bit about the Creators:

Isis (left) is 18 years old and a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School. She is grateful to have been a part of the Gravity community for 7 years. It has been such a wonderful part of her life and she is so honored to have the opporutnity to create this show. Isis also loves painting and has done lots of art for Gravity, incliuding show fliers and a mural at the studio. She is excited to continue training and performing on the East Coast next year during her first year of college at Brown University, where she will study environmental science and visual art.

Alannah
(right) is 19 years old and pursuing a Business Management & Marketing degree at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. She is currently working for 406Cirque and Mountain Air Dance in Bozeman coaching youth troupes and working on creating some shows next fall. She grew up in Denver and has been a part of the Gravity community for 7 years. Creating this show has been her favorite project yet and has been an amazing opportunity and experience!

WHAT: We'll be setting up our aerial rig on Memorial Day, to celebrate our 4 Gravity graduates; Anthony, Ananda, Isis and Maddie and possibly more? (my apologies if I'm missing others??). We'll have a variety of apparatus to put up and play on. Feel free to bring your own as well, please also bring other land things like hula hoops, kites, juggling stuff, etc.. Oh and something yummy to share!

WHO: Anyone is welcome to come hang out the more the merrier! You must sign have a signed Gravity waiver before playing on the rig!

WHAT: Gravity Aerial Arts Presents “Coyote”- a mythological aerial adventure.

A whimsical night filled with mischievous figures, tricksters and icons from the spiritual world.  The intermediate to advanced youth & teen students of Gravity will share their favorite Mythological tales through aerial dance.  This is Gravity's 14th season of showcases!

Coyote, the trickster, is one of the most well-known Native American myths. He is a clever and mischievous figure who often gets himself into trouble. He is said to have the power to shape-shift and to be a source of wisdom and humor.

Isis is 17 years old and a junior Visual Arts major at Denver School of the Arts. She is so grateful to have been apart of the Gravity community for 6 years, it has been such a wonderful part of her life and she is so honored to have the opportunity to create this show. Isis also loves painting and has done lots of art for Gravity, including show fliers and a mural at the studio.

Alannah (right) is 17 years old and a senior at Denver East High School. She has been doing aerial for almost 10 years and has coached camps and classes at Gravity for 4 years. She enjoys performing on all aerial apparatuses especially invented and creative ones. She will attend Montana State University in Bozeman in the fall to study business and Spanish.

Dreams and Nightmares - Showcase Sign Up

WHAT: Come perform in Gravity Aerial Arts 11th showcase!  What do you see when your eyes are shut?  Let’s see your most beautiful dreams, scariest nightmares or as always please take this and get as creative as you’d like!  Please prepare a 3-4 min solo, duo or small group #.

WHEN:-7:00 p.m. on October 14th and 15th 

WHO: Ages 18+ (Possible exceptions with management & parental approval.  There will be another under 18 show, mostly for our Youth and Teen level 3 and 4 classes on November 19th.)

WHERE: Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Theater

REQUIREMENTS: (Please read fully and put deadlines and rehearsal dates in your calendars).

1. Must be taking weekly classes or private lessons at Gravity Aerial Arts, August-October 2022.

2. Sign up & Pay by 8/14/22  *$70 solo show fee (includes photos, video, dress rehearsal and performance). Please sign up and pay through Mindbody on whichever day you would like to perform on, must also be able to attend the corresponding dress rehearsal (see dates below). (We won't have a sheet at the studio this time so please make sure you sign up online).*Duos $40/person & Groups $30/person. 

3. Complete the Show Info Google Form by 9/14/22 a link for this will be emailed in your sign up confirmation email. (Please contact me if you don’t receive it. I will not be chasing people anymore. I love you all but I just don't have the time. If you don't give me all of your info on time you will not perform.  I will send group reminders.)

4. MANDATORY Dress & Tech Rehearsals at CPRD theater.  (Please adjust your schedules now so you can make the full dress rehearsal for your show, we need to run the shows in order so rigging changes can be set and practiced).

-October 14th Show - Dress Rehearsal Monday 10/10/22 5:00-9:00 p.m.

-October 15th Show - Dress Rehearsal Tuesday 10/11/22 5:00-9:00 p.m.
