Fabric Beginning
Tue 8:00-9:10p (this class is 18+), & Sat 9:50-11:00p
This class is for those that are looking to start learning aerial fabric. Learn all of the basics and then start learning more complicated poses, sequences and even drops. Tuesdays ages 18+, Saturdays ages 13+. No experience necessary.
Fabric Beginning/ Intermediate
Wed 1:15-2:25p (this class is 18+), Thur 6:30-7:40p
This class is for those that are looking to start learning aerial fabric and for those that want to move up to the next level. Learn all of the basics and then start learning more complicated poses, sequences and even drops. Thursdays ages 13+ Wednesdays ages 18+. No experience necessary. All levels welcome.
Fabric Intermediate
Mon 6:30-7:40p, Thur 5:15-6:25p & Sat 2:00-3:10p
Learn intermediate skills, sequences, drops, poses, climbs and descents on aerial fabric. This class will also help to build strength, flexibility, technique and style. Ages 13+. Must be able to do hip keys & footlocks in the air.
Fabric Advanced
Thur 6:30-7:40p & Sat 3:15-4:25p
Learn advanced skills, sequences, drops, poses, climbs and descents on aerial fabric. This class will also help to build strength, flexibility, technique and style. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval). Must have experience doing drops and more complex sequences.
Hoop/Lyra Beginning
Sun 1:30-2:40p, Fri 1:10-2:20p
Learn beginning skills, sequences, poses, mounts, dismounts and spins on aerial hoop/Lyra. This class will also help to build strength, flexibility, technique and style. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval). No experience necessary.
Hoop/Lyra Beginning/Intermediate
Mon 6:30-7:40p
Learn beginning to intermediate skills, sequences, poses, mounts, dismounts and spins on aerial hoop/Lyra. This class will also help to build strength, flexibility, technique and style. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval). No experience necessary, but some is helpful.
Hoop Lyra Intermediate
Sun 2:45-3:55p & Thur 1:05-2:15p
Learn intermediate skills, sequences, poses, mounts, dismounts and spins on aerial hoop/Lyra. This class will also help to build strength, flexibility, technique and style. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval). Must be able to invert and do pull overs.
Hoop/Lyra Int/Adv
Thur 7:45-8:55p
Flips, Tricks and Drops, OH MY! Now that you can put some combos together, it's time to take it to the next level. This class focuses on more intermediate to advanced tricks such as penny drops & lemons drops. This class is also meant to help you find your own style when showcasing your skills. This class will have a strong focus on flexibility and technical skills needed to perform aerial Lyra. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval). Must be working on pull ups, pull overs, straight arm & straight leg straddle ups in the air, 10 secound single arm & knee hangs.
Trapeze Beg/Int
Sat 3:05-4:15p
In this class you will work on beginning to intermediate trapeze skills & sequences with an emphasis on technique and conditioning. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval). No experience necessary. All levels welcome.
Trapeze Int/Adv
Mon 7:45-8:55p
In this intermediate/advanced class we will work on more challenging trapeze skills, drops and sequences with an emphasis on technique and conditioning. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval). Must be able to do 1 pull up, 1 pull over, 3 consecutive inversions, & invert in the lines.
Duo Trapeze
Sun 5:30-6:40p
This is a weekly class is appropriate for Intermediate to Advanced level aerialists who are able to invert in the air unassisted multiple times. We will focus on foundational skills & theory for building sequences. No partner required. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval).
We will incorporate:
Solo skills
Partner drills
Mounts, descents & transitions
Basing positions
Go-to flyer poses & pathways
Washing machines (repeating sequences, wash-rinse-repeat)
Prerequisites:
Ability to invert in the air unassisted multiple times
Minimum 1yr aerial experience
Sling/Hammock Beg/Int
Tues 1:10-2:20p, Sun 12:15-1:25p (this class is 18+)
This class is for anyone that is looking to learn aerial sling/hammock skills.Learn beginning to advanced skills, sequences, drops, poses, and descents on aerial sling/hammock. With the small class size you will get individualised attention to so you can progress at your own pace. This class will also help to build strength, flexibility, technique and style. Wednesday & Friday class is ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval) Sunday class is 18+. Some aerial experience recommended but not necessary.
Sling/Hammock Flow Int/Adv
Tues 6:30-7:40p
This class is for anyone that is looking to take their aerial sling/hammock skills to the next level. Learn intermediate to advanced skills, sequences, drops, poses, and descents on aerial sling/hammock. There will be a focus on combining skills into flows and sequences. This class will also help to build strength, flexibility, technique and style. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval).
Sling Hammock Dynamic Int/Adv
Wed 6:30-7:40p
This class is for anyone that is looking to take their aerial sling/hammock skills to the next level. Learn intermediate to advanced skills, sequences, drops, poses, and descents on aerial sling/hammock. There will be a focus on dynamic movements like beats, drops and rolls. This class will also help to build strength, flexibility, technique and style. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval). Intermediate to advanced sling experience required.
Intro to Rope/Corde Lisse
Sun 2:45-3:55p
This class is for those that are looking to start learning aerial rope also called Corde Lisse. Learn all of the basics and then start learning more complicated poses, sequences and even drops. Ages 13+. Some aerial experience recommended but not required.
Rope/Corde Lisse Intermediate
Wed 7:45-8:55p & Sat 4:30-5:40p (both of these classes are 18+)
In this intermediate class we will explore movement and how rope differs from fabric. Learn pathways, sequences, drops, and beats specific to rope. Fundamental moves (catchers/hipkey/footlocks) will also be reviewed for efficiency, technique, and proper alignment. This class will help build grip strength, stamina, and overall conditioning. Ages 18+. Previous vertical experience required. Must be able to invert and do hipkeys in the air.
Intro to Aerial Straps
Tues 6:30-7:40p
In this introductory straps class, students will work on conditioning and learn foundational skills on straps, including meathooks, planks, and flares. We will focus on strength-building skills and basic spin techniques. As such, this class can offer excellent cross training for other aerial disciplines. Ages 13+ Please note that straps is not a beginner aerial discipline and there are prerequisites for this class. Straps can be particularly hard on the wrists and hands, so bringing long sleeves or wrist protection is encouraged.
Aerial Straps Conditioning Mixed Level
Thur 7:45-8:55p
Learn beginning to advanced skills, sequences, poses, roll ups and descents on aerial straps. This class will also help to build strength, flexibility, technique and style. Ages 15+. Must have completed at least 5 aerial classes at Gravity Aerial Arts or another studio. Must be able to invert in the air and do at least 1 pull up.
Flexibility/Contortion
Sun 11:00a-12:10p, Wed 5:15-6:25, Fri 6:30-7:40p & Sat 12:15-1:25p
Work on improving flexibility in all areas of the body. Using both dynamic and passive stretching techniques to increase range of movement. This class will also work on strengthening the muscle that are needed when holding and balancing contortion poses. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval). No experience necessary.
Aerial Sling Dance Intermediate
Thur 1:35-2:45p
Learn how to dance beautifully in the air using an aerial sling. This dance based class is structured to help develop strength, flexibility, body awareness, and graceful movement in the sling. Classes are designed with cumulative choreography to quickly develop aerialist skills and an overall knowledge of sling. A short choreographed piece, with music, will be performed at the end of every class. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval). This class is designed for intermediate to advanced aerialists.
Aerial Loops
Tue 5:15-6:25p
Learn beginning to advanced skills, sequences, poses, and descents on aerial loops. A combination of sling and straps, loops are a fun apparatus to explore unique shapes while challenging skills. This class will also help to build strength, flexibility, technique and style. Ages 15+. Must have completed at least 5 aerial classes at Gravity Aerial Arts or another studio. Must be able to invert in the air and do at least 1 pull up.
Aerial Conditioning and Flexibility
Mon 1:10-2:20p
This class will focus on building strength and flexibility to improve your aerial practice. We’ll start off with a dynamic warmup, circuit through focused strength and stamina building exercises on Lyra, Sling and Silks, and end with floor core and active flexibility. Multiple variations and advancement opportunities to meet anyone’s fitness level, Beginner to Advanced. Ages 16+ (12+ with instructor approval) basic/beginner understanding of either Lyra, Sling, or Silks and a desire to get stronger!
Flying Over Fifty
Sat 11:10-12:10p
This class will focus on safety, strength and flexibility on aerial sling and trapeze for people over 50 taught by experienced aerialists who are over 50. We will introduce basic tricks low to the ground with a trick progression using improvisation to transition between tricks.
