WHO: Amy Nash is an international professional circus performer, specializing in the acrobatic turning lyra—tippy lyra for short. She’s trained extensively for the last 3 years on this dangerous apparatus, pioneering her new act, Volcano.
Her circus career kick-started when she took a ‘gap year’ between high school and college to complete NECCA’s nine month pro-track training program in 2012. Her gap year is still going strong, five years later, as she has yet to make an appearance at a college. After graduating from NECCA, she followed her passion for the traditional circus world and quickly made a name for herself in England and Russia, where she performed in the International Circus Princess Festival. Her current specialties include her acrobatic turning lyra (tippy lyra) and hula hoops, however she has professional experience in performing aerial silks, triple trapeze, clowning, and ringmistress. In her spare time Amy is sewing costumes for her acts, finding music for new acts, and enjoys writing short stories about her experiences in the circus and her travels around the world.
